The Covid-19 vaccines are protecting people from becoming ill if they are infected, but what impact will they have on the actual spread of the virus? Should young and healthy people be vaccinated, who are unlikely to become seriously ill from infection? Will the hospital crisis be over once all the most vulnerable people have had their shots – and will that allow us to finally begin relaxing restrictions? Jonathan speaks with Dr Juraj Kopáček, a virologist and the Scientific director of SAV's Institute of virology and Biomedical research centre in Bratislava, about these and other related questions. What was life like in Slovakia's magnificent High Tatra mountains in the Middle Ages, long before the age of tourism? Local historian and writer Brano Chovan tells us about all sorts of interesting characters that haunted the mountains back then.
