War veteran Ailsa Doman, died on 22 May at the age of 95. She was awarded the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II. for her services to the veterans of World War II and her personal contribution to the formation of bilateral relations between Slovakia and the United Kingdom. Another Slovak-UK connection to the WW2 is Operation Athropoid, which took place at the end of May, in 1942.
