When Soviet tanks rolled into Czechoslovakia in 1968, many Slovaks who were abroad chose to stay abroad, thus becoming exiles. And so met the eventual parents of Mark Mokry, who being raised Slovak-Canadian has now returned with his own wife and children to Slovakia, completing the circle. He joins us in the studios of RSI to talk about his life here now, as well as the fateful decision made by each of his parents and how this impacted their families who remained behind in Czechoslovakia. Brano Sitar is a nuclear scientist who has worked closely for the past 25 years with the international organisation CERN, where cutting-edge research on sub-atomic particles is giving scientists new insights into the very first moment of the existence of the Universe, less than a microsecond after the Big Bang.
