You may have never heard of a 'neutrino', but this elusive elementary particle could hold important clues in our understanding of such phenomena as the heat rising from the centre of the earth, or super nova explosions occurring many light years away. Jonathan speaks with Fedor Šimkovič - a nuclear and sub-nuclear physicist at Bratislava's Comenius University who specialises in neutrinos, and recent winner of the ESET Science Award - about these fascinating particles and why it's important that we understand them.
